Martabak Manis
Martabak manis, also known as Indonesian sweet martabak, is a delightful and indulgent dessert. It's a popular street food in Indonesia and is often enjoyed as a treat.

Ingredients

  • 120 g flour
  • 40 g sugar
  • 100 g milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tbsp water
  1. Mix the flour, sugar, and milk. Optionally reserve half the sugar to put on the top while cooking.

  2. Let batter rest at least 30 minutes.

  3. Dissolve baking soda into the water in a separate bowl.

  4. Combine eggs and baking soda mixture with the batter.

  5. Pour batter onto pre-heated martabak pan or skillet. Push the batter up the sides to create a crispy lip.

  6. Cook over low-medium heat until bubblers push through the top layer over the entire surface.

  7. Sprinkle on the optional sugar and cover with lid.

  8. Continue cooking until fully cooked and firm.

  9. Top with toppings of choice: butter, chocolate, peanuts, cheese, condensed milk.
