Crispy Bacon & Swiss Flatbread Melt
A warm, toasted flatbread featuring savory melted Swiss cheese and salty bacon, accented by a tangy mustard spread.
Ingredients
- 2 flatbreads
- 6 slices bacon
- 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
- 2 tbsp yellow mustard
- 4–6 leaves butter lettuce
- 1 tbsp butter
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
Aim for a crispy bread base and bubbly, melted cheese.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crispy. Remove bacon and drain on paper towels.
- Spread yellow mustard evenly across the surface of both flatbreads.
- Top the mustard-coated flatbreads with the shredded Swiss cheese and the cooked bacon pieces.
- Melt 1 tbsp of butter in a clean skillet over medium heat. Place the flatbreads in the skillet and cover with a lid for 2–3 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and the bottom of the flatbread is golden and crisp.
- Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Serve immediately with fresh butter lettuce leaves on the side to add a cool, crisp contrast to the warm melt.
